Pastor Kelly and the #FightForAGirl Team would like to invite you to our first ever Fight Night on Thursday, November 3 at 7 pm at The Crossing Church Elk River Campus.
Join us for a conversation about being OK with not being OK. Hey listen - we know life can be tough sometimes because, well, we're living it, too. We want to help you find a group of girls who will fight alongside you as you battle your way through the real challenges of life. Our heart is to help you find your authentic self and learn to embrace her. This women’s event is free, but you can bring some cash to enjoy some mocktails, get yourself some new fight gear, and do a little Christmas shopping. (Sorry, no childcare provided.)

If you haven't heard of Jen Hatmaker, she's pretty awesome. Today she launched a new line in which she partnered with Glory Haus to create beautiful jewelry (as well as a few other items) that are made by women in the US who have come from vulnerable situations. And here's why I'm excited about it. Jen has a platform, and she has chosen to use what she has to raise awareness and create jobs that allow women to rise out of their situations.
My hope for you is that as you begin to realize the platform you have and the resources that are yours to use, that your focus would be on raising up the women around you - whether they be mothers or daughters, or neighbors or strangers. Now, I don't know what you're thinking, but I know what I used to think when I would read something like that. Literally, my thoughts would be "But I don't have... (that size of platform, that amount of money, that... you get it)." But here's what's cool. Luke 16:10 says “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities." Now the thing that I want to focus on is this: The way we act with whatever we have in our hand today will be how we would act if that amount was multiplied. That's huge. It's when our platform is small that we build our character for when it's large. It's when our finances are small that we build our habits for when they're big. It's the decisions that we make when we aren't sure if they'll make a difference that help set us up to make good decisions when we know they'll make a difference. So today, what decisions can you make in faith that will set you up for the type of person you want to be in the future? And for a little inspiration, take a look at this video from Jen Hatmaker's partnership with Glory Haus:

xoxo, Lisa & the Fight For A Girl team The first ever Fight Night is happening at The Crossing Church Elk River Campus on Thursday, November 3. Follow us on Instagram & here for details. Also...keep an eye on the program at any Crossing campus on the weekends. We. Are. So. Excited. xoxo Hey Twirl Girls! As I'm sure many of you remember from Twirl 2015, one of the ways we Fight For A Girl is by partnering with Samm & Angie Platt. Angie is a staff member at Destiny Rescue, an incredible organization based out of Thailand that is working tirelessly to combat sex slavery. Samm & Angie have followed God's call to uproot their entire family (four kids under the age of 11, omg) and move them across the world to Fight For A Girl. Their hearts beat for the rescue and restoration of young girls in Asia who have been trapped in the dark and horrific industry of sex slavery. I want you guys to understand what we're talking about here. We're talking about girls, teenagers down to small children, who are held captive and abused in every way imaginable, whose bodies are no longer their own, whose minds and hearts have been broken, whose lives are marked by paralyzing fear and neglect. Pause for a moment and let your heart break for them. And now let me tell you what you can do about it. Destiny Rescue is singularly focused on finding these girls, and restoring them to honor. They work day in and day out to carefully, slowly, gently, draw out the spark in each girl's heart...the spark that is God-breathed, God-given, and God-protected. They DO. NOT. STOP. until each girl has re-learned how to smile and laugh and play. They simply keep fighting for freedom. The thing is, freedom ain't free. Freedom is very expensive, and Samm & Angie aren't doing this because they have the money for it. They're doing it because they believe that when God tells us to set captives free, He actually means it. Now I know most of us can't up and move to Thailand, but you know what we can do? We can set captives free with our wallets. It's an easy way to do a hard thing. When I give money to Samm & Angie, I am supporting them in the life-or-death work of freeing actual slaves. When you give money to Samm & Angie, you are allowing them to save another girl from the pit of hopelessness. The Platt family will be at the Elk River Campus at The Crossing Church this weekend to meet people who might be interested supporting them. They will answer your questions, tell you their stories, receive your prayers, and say their goodbyes as they get ready to head back to Thailand for another year. And they'll be selling jewelry that is handmade by the rescued girls! We invite you to come talk to them this weekend. We invite you to become a part of the story of rescue as we continue to Fight For A Girl, one life at a time. Love, Pastor Kelly, Lisa, Tracy, & Christy The #FightForAGirl Team P.S. Check out this video to hear from Samm & Angie directly! P.P.S. Their website is www.andGodsaidgo.com if you want more info. It was lovely to see all your beautiful faces at Twirl 2016. It's been fun to see your photos on Instagram & hear the ways God spoke to you.
I'm pretty much without a brain today after 2 Twirl days, so I don't have much to say, except this: remember when we talked about fanning into flames that little glowing ember inside you? Well, going to church this weekend is a GREAT way to surround yourself with people who believe God has put great potential in you & who will inspire you to rise up! The Crossing has several locations & service times. Go to freegrace.tv to find one that works for you. You're worth it. Bring your daughter/mom/girlfriend. She's worth it too. WEAR your Twirl or #FightForAGirl Club shirt if ya got one! xoxo Kelly & the Fight For A Girl team Fight For A Girl Fight For A Girl is a brand new initiative that was born out of a desire to see women live free lives. Our goal is to connect women's needs with the people who can help.
